Earlier this afternoon I hit an emotional roadblock. It came out of nowhere and felt like someone was screaming "sorry, you'll never be a mom - you might as well give it up." Tears came and I felt like I was going to fall apart. I pulled it together and made some hot tea and curled up with a book. It helped ... a little.

And then I popped in a little Michael Buble and "Lost" came on. I've always picked apart the song's meaning with the first few lines ... but if you listen to the rest of the song it really touches my heart as a woman growing older and feeling lost and like the "best time" for conceiving a child has passed me by. It might be that my heart was seaching for it... but it rang true. If you haven't listened to it I would highly recommend. *hugs*

"Lost" by Michael Buble

I can't believe it's over, I watched the whole thing fall
And I never saw the writing that was on the wall
If I'd only knew, The days were slipping past
That the good things never last, That you were crying...

Summer turned to winter, And the snow it turned to rain
And the rain turned into tears upon your face
I hardly recognized the girl you are today
And god I hope it's not too late, It's not too late

'Cause you are not alone, I'm always there with you
And we'll get lost together, Till the light comes pouring through
'Cause when you feel like you're done, And the darkness has won
Babe, you're not lost, When your worlds crashing down
And you can't bear the thought, I said, babe, you're not lost

Life can show no mercy, It can tear your soul apart
It can make you feel like you've gone crazy, But you're not
Things have seem to changed, There's one thing that's still the same
In my heart you have remained, And we can fly fly fly away

'Cause you are not alone, And I am there with you
And we'll get lost together, Till the light comes pouring through

'Cause when you feel like you're done, And the darkness has won
Babe, you're not lost
When the worlds crashing down, And you can not bear the cross
I said, baby, you're not lost

  1. Aw Ann, I want to send you a (((hug))). I know what it is like to have those emotional feelings hit you and drop you down to the ground like a ton of bricks. They are so hard, but know that I am here for you whenever you need me. As you have read in my blog the last week, that was me. So, I know and I understand. But, I want you to remember these things...
*You are a strong woman and an inspiration for many women, including me.
*You are loved so much, including by those of us who are out here in cyber world and following your daily journey. I cry and laugh along with you.
*God loves you, He will make all of your dreams come true and answer all of your prayers. I know this to be true. ~Believe~
I have heard of the name of that artist, but have never heard any of his music or songs. What I take away from that song is this...HOPE! Ann, you are not alone, even if you feel like all of those things are true. For me those words represent hope for what I may be feeling and I truly believe that your time to have a baby and be the mom that you were called to be is truly NOT LOST. That is what my heart says, and I wish for you that all of your dreams come true soon.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your husband daily. Thanks for all of your support, I hope that I can only be as supportive for you as you have been for me when I certainly have needed it. :)
    Hugs and blessings,
    Stacey :)

  2. Oh my word, that song while reading the words to it, just stung my eyes..... ((huggles))
And thank you for thinking of me on my birthday, with all that you are going through, you are a wonderful lady. :)
